Frank L. Cecchetti began his career in the public defender’s office as a trial attorney. In this role, he was given the opportunity to put together and supervise a program that represented those individuals subject to mental health commitment hearings. While supervising this program, Frank strongly advocated for these individuals to be placed in the community, and worked to ensure a continual review until such a placement became available.
In addition to his work with MHALS, Frank works as part of a general practice and has represented consumers as well as family members in guardianship, divorce, custody and child support proceedings. He has also represented persons seeking debt relief, SSI and SSD benefits, as well as those with contract issues, including landlord and tenant disputes.
Frank has lectured for high school and graduate-level students as well as for forensic psychiatric professionals and served as a panelist and a featured speaker on mental health issues.
Frank holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Duquesne University and is a 1976 graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law.
